Areas of Study
Our Acting program is a rigorous, hands-on, pre-professional training experience that prepares you for success on stage and on screen.
From your first semester, you’ll dive deep into acting, voice and movement, building the skills and confidence to bring any role to life. Outside the classroom, you’ll put your training into action with countless performance opportunities including mainstage productions, student-directed one-acts, student organization-led productions, improv and sketch comedy troupes and Little Theatre of the Rockies—Colorado’s oldest professional summer stock theatre company.
Our Musical Theatre program is a dynamic, triple-threat training ground that prepares you for a career on the professional stage.
From day one, you’ll train intensively in voice, acting and dance, mastering the skills to perform with confidence and artistry. Your classroom training will be put into practice through mainstage productions, student organization-lead productions, showcases and our Little Theatre of the Rockies summer stock company. These opportunities allow you to gain the experience you need to step into the industry ready to perform.
The Theatre Design and Technology program provides emerging designers, technicians, and artisans with a combination of classroom and mainstage opportunities that prepares you for the next stage of your career as a professional theatre professional.
You’ll explore scenic, lighting, sound, costumes, projections and stage management through a blend of practical experience and applied theory, tailoring your coursework to fit your unique career goals. With access to well-equipped design and lighting labs and fully equipped theatres, you’ll work with advanced technology and professional-grade tools that transform your ideas into stunning theatrical worlds.
Our Theatre Education program is a dynamic blend of performance, pedagogy and practice that prepares you to teach and lead with creativity and confidence.
Teacher candidates gain hands-on classroom experience while developing as a skilled, reflective educator committed to excellence in Theatre Arts. Upon graduation, you’ll be certified to teach in Colorado and ready to make an immediate impact in K–12 schools, helping students discover how theatre enriches learning, builds empathy and empowers self-expression.

Our Theatre Studies program is built for theatre creators. It is a launchpad for playwrights, directors, producers, arts entrepreneurs and innovators ready to shape the future of theatre.
This flexible program allows you to design your education around your passions, combining performance, production and management to prepare you for a wide range of careers in the arts. Whether your goal is to lead a company, develop new work or redefine what theatre can be, you’ll graduate ready to make your mark as a creative force in the industry.
Our minor in Dance asks you to study a variety of scientific and artistic movement principles. You’ll train in a wide range of styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, ballroom, hip-hop and choreography. Each year, you’ll have the opportunity to perform in our annual mainstage dance concert and our student showcase productions, gaining real performance experience and developing your unique voice as a dancer and choreographer.
You can minor in Theatre Arts by completing 24 credits in playscript analysis, theatre performance, design and technology, directing and acting.
